Put a pan over medium flame and add 1 chopped onion in it. Let it saute for a minute and once done, add 2 cups of spinach puree in it. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Next, add 2 cups of rice in it and 4 cups of water. Mix everything well. Finally, add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 2 pinches asafoetida and salt to taste. Stir well and let the rice boil until cooked and water is absorbed. Once done, adjust the seasonings and add a dash of lemon juice over. Mix and enjoy.
Rice is one of the popular staple foods across the world and this is one of the best sources of carbohydrates that can be introduced to babies. To make this delicious rice recipe, put a pan over medium flame and add 1 cup of tomato puree in it. Let it come to a boil and then add 1 cup of boiled rice in it along with 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp paprika powder and salt to taste. Mix well all the ingredients and cook for 2-3 minutes. Enjoy warm.
Put a pressure cooker on medium flame and heat 1-2 tsp ghee in it. Add 1 pinch of asafoetida and then add 1 small onion (chopped) in it and saute for a minute. Then, add 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and stir nicely. Cook until the raw smell of garlic goes away. Next, add 1 small tomato (chopped) in it. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then, add 1/2 tsp each of turmeric powder and garlic powder along with salt to taste. Mix well, and then add 1/2 cup rice with 1 cup of green moong dal in it, both washed & soaked for 15-20 minutes. Next, add 2-3 cups of water and mix all the ingredients. Close the lid and cook for 2 whistles. Let the steam release on its own and once done, serve with some ghee and curd.
First, soak 1/2 cup of rice and 1 cup of masoor dal for 10-15 minutes together. Next, put a pressure cooker over medium flame and heat 1 tbsp of ghee in it. Add 2 pinches of asafoetida and then add 1 chopped onion in it. Saute until pink in colour. Next, add the soaked rice and masoor dal along with 1/2 tsp each of turmeric, cumin powder and garlic powder and salt to taste. Mix well and then close the lid, and cook the khichdi for 2 whistles. When they crackle, add 1 finely chopped onion in it and cook for 2 minutes or until it turns pink in colour. Then, add 1 finely chopped tomato in the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they are mushy. Next, add 1/2 tsp each of cumin powder and turmeric along with salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients well and then add 2 cups of boiled rice in the pan. Stir nicely with light hands and cook for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and the rice are ready to eat.
