What is DSIP ?

Delta sleep-inducing peptide, abbreviated DSIP, is a neuropeptide that when infused into the mesodiencephalic ventricle of recipient rabbits induces spindle and delta EEG activity and reduced motor activities.

DSIP Function

1. DSIP Roles in endocrine regulation
2. Decreases basal corticotropin level and blocks its release.
3. Stimulates release of luteinizing hormone (LH).
4. Stimulates release of somatoliberin and somatotrophin secretion and inhibits somatostatin secretion.

DSIP Peptide Application:

1) DSIP lowers basal corticotropin levels and blocks their release. DSIP also makes it easier for the body to release LH (luteinizing hormone). In addition, it makes it simpler for the body to release somatotrophin (and somatoliberin secretions) and to block the production of somatostatin.
