What is Silodosin?
| 1.Silodosin (trade names Rapaflo (USA), Silodyx (Europe and South Africa), Rapilif (India), Silodal (India), Urief (Japan), Urorec (Russia)) is a medication for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. 2.Silodosin is a selective antagonist of alpha1A-adrenoreceptors in the prostate and bladder. Smooth muscle tone in the prostate is mediated by alpha1A-adrenoreceptors; blocking them leads to relaxation of smooth muscle in the bladder neck and prostate causing an improvement of urine flow and decreased symptoms of BPH. |
What's the usage?
| Silodosin is used for treating the signs and symptoms of enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia [BPH]).Silodosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder, which helps to improve urine flow and reduce symptoms of BPH. |
